Cruise Vs. All Inclusive Resort - Which is the Right Choice?

When you’re looking for an easy vacation that requires a minimal hassle, planning and decision- making, your two ideal options are a cruise line or all-inclusive resort.

Both of these vacations roll the cost of food, activities and entertainment into one easy price,
making it easy to budget for your trip without a lot of hidden costs. Now let’s take a look at the pros and cons of these options to help you choose which vacation is right for you.

Cruising Pros: Unlike so many family vacations that feel a lot toilsome, a family cruise can actually feel restful for parents, while also providing the fun and excitement that kids desire.
For kids: There’s a plethora of activities for kids to indulge in. Nowadays, the cruises are crafted to suit kids’ needs, including video games and arcades, hands-on science experiments, themed parties, etc. - not to mention the bigger and better waterslides, pools, ice skating rinks and even race tracks.
Cruises are a great way to explore multiple destinations as a family without the hassle of
packing and transporting everyone from city to city. There are plenty of options of all the family members to spend their time onboard.

Cruising Cons: The biggest drawback of a cruise is that you will generally be dealing with huge number of population, particularly during the most popular times of year for family- school breaks,
vacations, festivities.
Another downside is that, unlike an all-inclusive resort, you will have to pay extra for drinks. Of course that means alcohol comes with an extra fee. With kids along, that can be a significant addition to your final tab.

All-inclusive resort Pros:

All-inclusive resort vacations are ideal for families in many of the same ways cruises are.
For kids: At an all-inclusive resort, your kids will enjoy a drop-off care at your leisure in kids’
clubs, where they’ll find a variety of options waiting for them, from crafts to rec rooms and
special themed nights, all organized to their age group. Resorts often have pool areas and
playgrounds, too especially for kids.
The biggest advantage of an all-inclusive resort compared to a cruise ship will be the size of
your room. This is practically unheard of on cruise ships. If seasickness is an issue for, or if the
idea of just staying in one place works for you, then an all-inclusive resort is the best option.

 All-inclusive resort Cons

Although it varies based on the location, resort and time of year, you will usually pay more for
an all-inclusive resort versus a cruise. Also, families who crave a lot of variety may not be
satisfied by staying put at a resort, where there’s not much to explore after a certain point.
So if the daily change in the view attracts you, adventurous excursions keep you pumped up or relaxing in the beach is more of your thing, then cruises are for you. While if you want a kid-
friendly getaway with only relaxation on your mind, then enjoy an all-inclusive resort getaway.
