Tips for a Successful Shore Excursion

Did you just weigh all pros and cons and decided to organize your own shore excursion? Then, here are some thumb rules of planning a trip:
Do your homework seriously:Time is short, so go with a plan. Make a thorough notes on ports, or read them up online or in a guide book before you depart. Find out what all you can indulge yourself into near these ports and what transportation is available.
Be ready to disembark early:If you want to disembark as soon as the doors open, expect a line. Head for the exit well in
advance.
Save shopping for the end:Get out and do your activities first and browse the shops and stalls later. It’s wise this way as
you won’t have to carry all your purchases throughout the day.
Bring a day pack:
Use a small day pack to carry all your essentials. Some of the things
include-
  • Beach towel- The cruise ship will loan you towels as you leave the ship.
  • Magazines or papers: Carrying disposable papers to the beach is wise. No worries if they get wet, sandy or stolen.
  • Snacks: Fill in your bag with some cookies, biscuits and other edibles before you head out.
  • Reusable water bottle: Keep in mind to fill in your water bottles before leaving.
  • Identification, cash, and phone: Keep your passport, ship ID, cash, credit cards and other important things that you can’t afford to lose under any cost.
Keep extra time for ferry rides:Usually, ferries carry passengers to and from the cruise ship when the ship cannot pull all the
way to the dock. Therefore, it’s advised to plan your ferries and the timings beforehand.
We hope these shore excursion tips help you to plan yours.
